Ladies and gentlemen, let me be the first to congratulate America for surviving the Harry Reid era.

Reid did his best to destroy us, but we made it.

On Friday, Reid stood to say goodbye to the Senate…

I’ve been asked for many years, especially by press and others: ‘How do you get along with Mitch McConnell?’

… He and I understand our relationship. We’re both lawyers. I’ve been to court lots of times — over a hundred jury trials. And when I would go to those trials, I was really fixed on my opponent. How could he feel that way about something? An issue. He’s wrong on the law, he’s wrong on the facts, and we’re going to take care of this in court. Unfortunately, I was fairly blessed with my trials, they turned out good most of the time.

But Mitch and I understand, that’s what we do here. When the trial is over… it was all over, it was gone. We’re friends. We were there each doing our thing to effect our cause. That’s what we do here. McConnell and Reid don’t need to be hugging out here every day, we’re advocates for a cause. I do the very best I can and he does the very best he can.

So this is not a love-session for Reid and McConnell, but I want everyone to know here, Mitch McConnell is my friend…

When I hurt myself, Mitch called me. So everybody, go ahead and make up all the stories you want about how you hate each other go ahead. If it makes a better story, maybe you should.

Sadly, our sycophantic GOP Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell couldn’t just let Reid go without praising one of the most mean-spirited and nasty politicians in recent memory.
